Blazers and Flares

Photobucket

What I'm Wearing: White linen blazer from Arden B, white Michael Kors blouse, scarf from flea market in Paris, brown Steve Madden shoes, black Michael Kors Hamilton bag and jewelry from Forever 21.

Hey everyone, so just to give you all an update I'm safe and sound! The hurricane was pretty intense, but it didn't do much damage to my area. The only thing is, most highways are blocked off because of flooding, fallen trees and mud slides so that means I'm stuck upstate with my camera being in the city! I know bummer right! Anywhoz I took pics of my outfit that I wore last week to work, but never had time to post it up! Work has been hectic already, but I am dedicated to this blog and will try my best to update it as much as possible!

P.S: This is prob the first time in 6 years I'm wearing flared jeans! I was totally dedicated to skinnys, but since the trend resurface I though what the heck! Let me know if you went back into your fashion vault to rock some flares!

I hope everyone had a safe weekend!!!

I'm back!

Photobucket
What I'm Wearing: Black Forever21 cardigan, black Charlotte Russe top, light olive green Asos.com pants, black Michael Kors Hamilton bag, Forever21 jewelry and cheetah print shoes from boutique in Manhattan.

First of all I want to apologize for the lack of post I had this month. It's been so hectic, now that I'm finally working. I love my job, but it's been a little difficult trying to learn and adapt to the position. On a brighter note, it's the fashion industry so I get to wear whatever I want (with some limitations, my outfits has to be decent of course!) Anyways, sorry for looking so tired! After working all day, I just don't look as fresh as I do in the mornings.

I hope you guys enjoy!

Jumping into Fall

Photobucket

What I'm Wearing: Light burnt orange Forever21 blouse, blue Forever21 Jeans, Jewelmint Rio Bravo earrings, brown sandals from Charlotte Russe, white watch and black Hamilton bag from Michael Kors.
Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I recently found a job, so I've been extremely busy. I also work long hours, so there isn't much time to take pics of my outfit before the sun sets! However I managed to squeeze a photo opt in today. It rained a little in the morning, making the weather very cool and fall like. I wore something very casual today because of the rainy weather. I'll try to do some post with my official work attire. I also am going to do a huge haul this weekend, so look out for that!

I hope you guys are enjoying our final days of summer!

All Hail Mcqueen

Photobucket
What I'm Wearing: Red thrifted blazer, white Michael Kors top, black Forever21 jeans, navy blue Charlotte Russe purse and gold Michael Kors watch.
I got to visit the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the MET in NYC. It was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had! Couple years ago I had the opportunity to visit the Yves Saint Laurent exhibit in Paris, it was amazing but the McQueen exhibit was far more exciting! His dark designs and outrages theatrics on the runway made the exhibit very intriguing.

I went on the last day, so the lines were super crazy! However, it was totally worth it. Not only did I get to experience something great in Fashion History, but my night was complete upon the meeting of someone oh so profound in the fashion world. At the end of the exhibit, my BF purchased the exhibition book for me, which was a nice gesture since he did wait over 3 hours in line with me and spent almost $50 on the book! At the counter I was told that there was a book signing later on for ever one who purchased it. I was contemplating whether I wanted to wait another 2 hours to get my book signed, when I found out who was signing it. The book was being signed by the curator of the exhibit and none other than the Queen of Fashion herself, Anna Wintour! OMG, all I can say was meeting her was a nerve wrecking and thrilling experience! I was one of the first ones to meet her, so I got to have a mini convo with her which consisted of me gushing about the honorable meeting and she kindly (surprisingly) asking me me I enjoyed the exhibit. Although it lasted about a minute, it was an experience I'll never forget!

Ok, so enough blabbing! I decided to wear my cheetah print wedges which has been stuck to my feet ever since I got it! Along with a thrifted red blazer, black jeans and a white top to give the outfit some contrast. I also decided to experiment with my hairstyle by doing a side, french braid. Let me know if you guys would like me to do a tutorial on it in the comments below! Anways, enjoy the pictures!

P.S: I tried to snap some pics of the exhibit just for you guys, even though it was forbidden. I know, thank me later! :p

August Wish List

Photobucket

Photobucket

1. Rio Bravo Earrings from Jewelmint - Ever since I saw some youtubers wearing these earrings, I know I had to have them. For those of you who do not know what jewelmint is, it's an website that allows you to choose a piece of jewelry every month for a monthly subscription of $30. You take a quiz and judging from your answers, the website creates a personalized showroom of the top pieces that would be of most interest to you. You can also buy more than one piece of jewelry or see other pieces that wasn't included in your showroom. You can join Jewelmint by clicking on my invitation link here!

2. Beige Eye Glasses - I went shopping at Aldo's yesterday and I came across these beige reading glasses. I have been obsessed with the black ones I got at Urban Outfitters and have been wearing them almost everyday! I do wear glasses and have decided that I want to put my prescription in them, so tomorrow I will be making a trip to Aldo's to pic these up. The quality is very good, and the frames feel strong and sturdy enough for prescription lenses. I'll let you know how they turn out!

3. Sara Shepard Books - I've been obsessing over the Pretty Little Liars TV show and the books as well. I've read all of them so far, so when I heard a new one was coming out I was super excited! Also, since I love the PPL series so much I decided to also try reading the Lying Game. The Lying Game is also coming out with it's very own TV series as well! I can't wait! :D

4. Nude color nail polishes - I've been wearing nude color polishes all summer, but sometimes you just need a break from the loudness! I've been looking for nude color polished online, and found that Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure has a wide selection of nude colors! They have colors to compliment any skin color.

5. Metal Choker Necklace - These necklaces was all over the fall runways. From Elle Saab to Michael Kors, Metal Choker Necklaces was adorned on almost every model. These necklaces gives any outfit a sharp, edgy look. Aldo's has a great selection of these bold necklaces!

6. Patent Leather Flats - Since I've been running around the city lately going on interviews, I've discovered that I am in serious need of flats. Running in heels is not only dangerous but it could lead to embarrassing disasters! Also, every one needs a nice pair of black patent flats in my opinion. Not only are they comfortable, but they pull together your outfit (even if they are just spares for you to travel to and from work)!

7. Fall Skirts - In preparation for fall, I am obsessing over skirts with heavy fabrics, like leather and wool. They are on the top of my shopping list at the moment. I'm loving this corduroy skirt from Forever21! Styled with a pair of knee high socks and a cropped top with chunky heels would be the perfect fall outfit!

8. Peter Pan Collar Shirts/Dresses - Not only is this trend sophisticated, but it also gives your outfit a classic touch!

9. Work Clothes - What I need more than anything, and I would consider this a necessity, is an entire wardrobe of professional attire. Since I have been going on interviews, it's almost a matter of time before I land a job and with that accomplishment comes the necessity for work clothes. Although most offices do not have a strict professional clothing policy, working in the fashion industry you are expected to look the part and represent the company. So with that being said, the month of august will be dedicated to finding trendy and fashionable business appropriate clothing!

10. Booties - With fall almost around the corner, finding the perfect pair of booties is almost critical! It's never too early to start fall shopping, which I am personally super de duper excited for!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful first day of August!
